Providing Access to Behavioral Health Services in Underserved Communities
The Gibson Center for Behavioral Change’s Mobile Treatment Unit travels to surrounding communities and counties with limited access to behavioral health care in Southeast Missouri. We recognize we have patients who may be struggling to get behavioral healthcare through traditional means because of issues such as transportation, family, lack of nearby services or unchangeable work schedules. The Mobile Treatment Unit provides behavioral health services to rural communities in the region, disaster response to affected individuals and education.
Services Provided by the Mobile Unit
Our forty-foot Mobile Unit includes a waiting room and three private exam rooms. The unit is staffed with case managers, behavioral health counselors, and peer specialists. The mobile clinic is a secure, private space with the same mental health counseling services, substance use treatment services, care coordination, health education and information provided in our brick and mortar clinics. Walk-ins are welcome; appointments are encouraged.
