What is the We Do Recover Community Center?
We Do Recover Community Center (RCC) is a peer-operated center that serves as a local resource of community-based recovery support and helps facilitate relationships among individuals in recovery, as well as community and family members. In turn, this resource helps individuals initiate and sustain recovery over time.
Our Mission
Our mission is to engage, empower and encourage those seeking recovery from addiction and provide a platform for people to experience recovery through advocacy, pro-social activities and community-based events.
We Do Recover Community Center (RCC) primarily serves the needs of recovering addicts from Cape Girardeau, Scott, Stoddard and Butler counties, but our services are not geographically limited. The RCC is open to the community and anyone passing through the area.
Supportive Environment
We provide a “mutually supportive” environment as services are staffed by people who have recovered from substance use disorder (SUD) and know what it’s like to maintain their sobriety on a daily basis.
Services offered through the RCC include group and peer support, advocacy training, employment assistance and an overall “social atmosphere” for recovering addicts.
The facility hosts everything from 12-step program meetings to alcohol-free themed parties. Our space has a coffee bar, comfortable sitting area and a place for social gathering at the facility. We also have ongoing activities such as yoga, guided meditations, employment assistance, volunteer opportunities, fellowship and games.
